Universal CityWalk - Spending a Summer Night at CityWalk

There’s nothing like visiting CityWalk during summer! This entertainment hub is steps away from Universal Studios Hollywood and offers various shopping, dining, and entertainment options. You don’t need to have admission into the Universal Studios theme park to access CityWalk. This makes it a great way to spend a date night or an evening out on the town with friends. Universal CityWalk is open right now and is social distancing friendly. Read on about all the things CityWalk has to offer!

Atmosphere and entertainment‍

CityWalk is Universal’s version of Times Square, with bright neon lights, colorful buildings, and large, precariously placed structures like giant doughnuts and superheroes. The area is alive with activity, which will make you glad to get out of the house! The broad pedestrian walkways are bustling with shops, eateries, live entertainment, and more. Universal CityWalk is home to numerous entertainment venues and concert stages. At this time, entertainment options are limited. Check CityWalk’s website for entertainment updates.

Dining‍

CityWalk offers a plethora of dining options to meet anyone’s appetite. Plus, when you visit CityWalk during summer, you’ll notice expanded outdoor seating and takeout options. So, get out and enjoy some fresh air!

With a wide variety of full-service and quick-service eateries, CityWalk has something for everyone. For a casual dining experience straight out of the movies, check out Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. This seafood restaurant is based on the classic Tom Hank’s film Forrest Gump, and you’ll find many nods to the movie inside the restaurant. Another family-friendly restaurant is Buca di Beppo, an Italian eatery that serves enormous portions that make you feel like part of the family. Visit Johnny Rockets for classic American fare, where burgers, fries, and shakes are served up in a 50s diner. If Mexican is more your style, Antojitos features traditional Mexican dishes and offers 150 types of tequilas on site. Fast food options like Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut are also available at CityWalk.

While doughnuts are typically thought of as breakfast, we suggest you visit VooDoo Doughnuts for dessert. These treats are unlike anything you’ve ever seen, and you simply won’t be able to wait until breakfast to eat one. We suggest Mini Monster, which serves teas and boba, or Jamba Juice, a healthy smoothie bar for drinks.

Shopping‍

Woman shopping for clothes.

CityWalk is a real shoppers delight with old and new favorites like Abercrombie and Fitch, Fossil, Guess, Hot Topic, Sephora, and Tilly’s. There are also a few unique shopping options you won’t find anywhere else. One is IT’SUGAR, a sweet lover’s dream. As the name implies, this shop is filled with all things sugar! Release your inner geek at Things from Another World, a sci-fi and movie collectible paradise. Sports fans will love showing their LA pride with dedicated shops for both the Raiders and Dodger fans to grab the latest gear. If you’re a Universal Season or Annual Passholder, show your ID to get a discount at select dining and shopping locations at CityWalk.
