L.A. Zoo Lights

Light Animals

This nighttime event offers endless sparkling holiday lights and imaginative displays. The self-guided tour will take most families between an hour and an hour and a half.

Visitors will be awed by this magical winter wonderland. L.A. Zoo Lights includes a variety of displays and experiences.

The zoo's displays are focused on bringing animals to life—elephant statues with lighted projections, sparkling butterflies, and lighted Mosaic Rhinos. Visitors can see the creative light animals, walk through the dazzling Light Tunnel, and check out Holiday Village. It will be a night you'll treasure forever.

Light Animals

The light animals are one of L.A. Zoo Lights’ most popular displays. Visitors will see lighted frogs relaxing on lily pads. In addition, lighted tigers, lions, monkeys, meerkats, macaws, and flamingos decorate the zoo.

Light Tunnel

Light Tunnel

The 200-foot light tunnel features dancing and twinkling lights that respond to the music. Sing and dance with the lights that surround you.

Holiday Village

Everybody loves a holiday village, and L.A. Zoo hosts a fabulous one. So check out the village, give Santa your wish list, and take the perfect holiday photos. In addition to Holiday Village, there are photo opportunities throughout the zoo.

As you travel throughout L.A. Zoo Lights, you'll be tempted with seasonal goodies, treats, and beverages.

Holiday Magic

Visitors can delight in the world's biggest illuminated pop-up storybook. Everyone will be delighted by the giant glittering snowflakes. Don't miss the impressive disco ball forest.

You won't see many live animals during your zoo visit. This is because most of the animals will already be in bed. However, some of the festivities occur in the protected LAIR building, where you'll find curious amphibians and reptiles.

Weekend Extras

The weekdays are a great time to enjoy the lights, but the weekends are extra-special. On the weekends, the zoo will provide additional entertainment and activities.
