Hike to the Hollywood Sign

There are three popular routes to hike to the famous Hollywood Sign. The Hollywood Sign is located in Griffith Park, just below Mt. Lee's 1,708 ft summit. Griffith Park is open from sunrise to sunset. The sign itself has a fence and security personnel to ensure hikers don't get too close.

The Mt. Hollywood Trail is the easiest. Start at Griffith Observatory for a three-mile loop and side views of the sign.

The Brush Canyon Trail is six and a half miles long. This fun trail also goes by the Bat Cave, featured in the 1960's Batman TV series.

The Cahuenga Peak Hike is more challenging due to its steep elevation gain. The four-mile loop hike has a 1,400 ft elevation gain and gives hikers a view behind the Hollywood sign. Take water and remember to take pictures!

Celebrities interred here include Mickey Rooney, Valerie Harper, Judy Garland, and Cecil B. DeMille, along with hundreds of Hollywood stars and residents. The Hollywood Forever Cemetery also hosts outdoor cinema screenings, concerts, and events.
